Here is a recent post from the Wall Street Journal on yahoo.finance.  It is written by Kelly Greene and it gives very specific steps to how to manage the initial stages of retirement.

I like it because there are a few steps, such as controlling our budget and lowering our costs that we can actually control.  I always find it frustrating when there seems to be so much out of our control while at the same time these are the most important things in our lives.  The list goes on and on in this way, but I hope you get my drift.
